Free Private School Admissions in A.P.: 8,583 Students Allotted Seats in Second Phase

Free Private School Admissions in A.P.: 8,583 Students Allotted Seats in Second Phase

The Andhra Pradesh government has released the results of the second and final phase of Free Private School Admissions in A.P. for the academic year 2025–26. Under Clause 12 (1)(C) of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 8,583 students have been selected through a transparent online lottery system to secure free seats in private unaided schools across the state.

Notification Sent via SMS and Website

Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao announced that parents of the selected students would be informed through SMS alerts. Additionally, the details of allotments are available on the official website. To confirm admission, parents must report to the respective allotted schools between June 21 and June 28 with valid documents.

A toll-free helpline (18004258599) has also been activated for assistance related to the Free Private School Admissions in A.P.

Verification Process and Warning to Schools

Director Srinivasa Rao emphasized that school managements are instructed to verify the original documents presented by parents and ensure hassle-free admissions. He cautioned that departmental action will be initiated against any school that denies admission without a valid reason.

To ensure accountability and transparency, district-level Additional Project Coordinators (APCs) of Samagra Shiksha have been provided special logins for real-time admission verification.

First Phase Recap

The application window for Class 1 under the Free Private School Admissions in A.P. ran from May 2 to May 19. During this period, 37,427 applications were submitted. Following document verification, 28,561 children were deemed eligible.

In the first lottery phase, 23,118 students were allotted seats, and 15,541 students successfully joined private schools under the RTE scheme. The remaining eligible students were considered in the second phase.

Final Allotment and Reporting Guidelines

Parents must ensure that their children report to the assigned schools within the specified window (June 21–28). They must carry all relevant documents for verification, including birth certificates, Aadhaar cards, and income or caste certificates as applicable.

If school staff have any questions about the verification or admission process, they are encouraged to consult with Mandal or District Education Officers or the Regional Joint Directors of the School Education Department.

Parallel Updates from Madhya Pradesh

While Free Private School Admissions in A.P. continue to progress smoothly, similar initiatives are being undertaken in other states. For instance, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is conducting its second phase of admissions under the RTE Act for the 2025–26 academic year.

Parents in Indore had until June 20 to finalize their school preferences. The second phase allotment results are scheduled to be declared through an online lottery on June 25, and admissions must be completed between June 25 and 30 using the official RTE mobile app.

Indore District Statistics

In Indore, 5,126 students were allotted seats in 1,425 private unaided schools during the first round, occupying only 23% of the available 21,105 seats. This leaves over 16,000 vacant seats for the second phase.

Across Madhya Pradesh, 84,795 students received seat allotments in the first phase, but more than 27,000 seats remain unfilled. The high vacancy underscores the importance of awareness and prompt action among parents.

Successful Admission Rates

The first round of admissions in Madhya Pradesh saw an impressive completion rate:

  • 91% statewide admission success
  • 85% success rate in Indore (4,361 out of 5,126 students)
  • 89% in Bhopal (4,993 out of 5,612)
  • 90% in Jabalpur (2,478 out of 2,764)

District officials have urged parents to act quickly and make use of the RTE help centres if needed.

Importance of Free Private School Admissions in A.P.

The Free Private School Admissions in A.P. initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality education for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. By leveraging technology and transparent processes, the initiative aims to bridge the educational divide and offer a level playing field.

With increasing public participation and well-coordinated administrative efforts, Andhra Pradesh is setting a precedent in implementing the RTE Act effectively. However, success depends on continued vigilance, parent awareness, and school cooperation.

Looking Ahead

As the second phase of Free Private School Admissions in A.P. concludes, the focus now shifts to monitoring the admission confirmations and addressing any grievances promptly. The state education department has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward non-compliance and assures that all efforts will be made to uphold the rights of every child under the RTE Act.

For more updates and real-time information, parents and guardians are advised to visit the official Samagra Shiksha website or contact the toll-free helpline.
