Ben Folds Concert in Central New York: Solo Piano Performance Announced

Billy Joel’s Syracuse concert may be postponed for a year, but fans of piano-driven music won’t have to wait that long for a great performance.

Ben Folds is set to take the stage at the Capitol Theatre in Rome, N.Y., on June 18. The evening will kick off at 7 p.m. with a special performance by Lindsey Kraft

Tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday, March 14, at 10 a.m. through etix.com. Prices begin at $50, with $1 from each ticket supporting Ben Folds’ charity, Keys For Kids.

This performance is one of only two New York state stops on Ben Folds’ “Ben Folds & A Piano Tour.” He is also scheduled to play at the Tarrytown Music Hall on June 20

About Ben Folds

At 58, Ben Folds has made a name for himself as a piano-rock artist, gaining recognition both as the frontman of Ben Folds Five and as a solo performer. His well-known tracks include “Brick,” “Army,” “The Luckiest,” “Philosophy,” “Rockin’ the Suburbs,” and “Song for the Dumped.” A special edition of his 2005 album Songs for Silverman featured a live recording of “Landed,” captured at Syracuse University.

Ben Folds has built a reputation for his diverse collaborations across multiple genres. He has worked with notable artists such as “Weird Al” Yankovic, Regina Spektor, and Amanda Palmer, as well as acclaimed author Nick Hornby and Star Trek legend William Shatner. In addition to his work with rock bands and orchestras, Folds has been actively involved in the a cappella music scene, partnering with various vocal groups. From 2009 to 2013, he showcased his musical expertise as a judge on NBC’s singing competition The Sing-Off, helping to spotlight talented vocal ensembles
